School netball takes centre stage in New Zealand this week with three regional secondary school tournaments.
The tournaments, involving a total of 226 teams, all began 31 August, and finish on either Thursday or Friday, during Winter Tournament Week, when school teams compete in a large number of sports at venues all around New Zealand.
The top four teams from each region qualify for the 2009 New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships to be held in Timaru from Tue 6 to Fri 9 October. The defending champions are Villa Maria College who became only the second South Island school to win the national title in the 16-year history of the national event.
if you are involved in any of these events let us know how you're getting on!
